For the last seven years, I've been on the RAH WORLD TOUR – 84 months of living on the road, averaging 10-14 nights a month, waking up in a different city, in a bed new to me.

Very few hotels stand out. Sometimes I remember a to-die-for meal or an individual who provided stellar service but rarely have I loved everything about a hotel from the moment I arrive to the moment I head to the airport.

If you ask me about my fave hotel, it's hands down Tierra Atacama Hotel & Spa. But that's some next level shit where you drop bank to be whisked away and have one AH-MAZING experience after the next, on repeat. If you have the time and money, do it!

The Maritime Hotel doesn't have staff that will whisk you away to make your inner flamingo-obsessed 5th-grader fantasies come true (flamingos in the wild!!!), but you'll appreciate their crew. Warm staff flashin' genuine smiles greeted me and the gal checkin' me in was equally sweet. I interacted with multiple front desk, door, bar, and maintenance staff and every single one of them provided amazing service. It's like they actually enjoyed having me as a guest and liked their jobs (kudos to management!).

A hotel experience is more than the staff – it's the décor, the amenities, the onsite facilities, the services they can arrange, and so many little details often gone unnoticed by guests. The graphic designer in me melts every time I stay at a hotel with a smart concept and strong execution. I love how they full-on embraced the maritime theme – from the circular-shaped windows to the stationery and desk calendar to the pulley handles on the draws to everything!

I let out a small YASSSS when I discovered the Marvis toothpaste and C.O. Bigelow toiletries. And hellz yeah I love the hand loofa sponge and individually wrapped q-tips!

The Maritime Hotel is located in Chelsea, one of my fave NYC neighborhoods and my old stomping ground. Super easy to walk to tons of cool spots to grub, shop, or hang and it’s a short block to a metro stop. So if you're looking for a place to stay in NYC, check out The Maritime Hotel!
