Denmark – The Low Down Adventure
Sometimes I wish we hit a new country every month – one non-stop journey from country to country till we’ve hit all 201. But I don’t, I can’t – I’ve fallen in love with too many cities, made friends with too many amazing people. And a return to Denmark has been a long time comin’.
From the moment I spotted all the Viking notebooks that made me melt on the spot, to the dope Viking pencils flauntin’ so much style... I knew we’d have to go back. I fall hard for office supplies, yes, but few give me butterflies and make my heart race – like how crushin’ hard on a boy in middle school did. I’d lay in my canopy bed with matching pink gingham spread and flip through the xeroxed school phonebook, wonderin’ if I’d muster up the courage to call one of my crushes. I never did. Instead, I’d pull out my pencil box, check my stash, and select a pencil that fit my crush. And then I’d doodle hearts in the phonebook next to his name. If I really really liked him? He’d get some highlighter action.
That heart-racin’, butterflies-swarmin’ feeling made me realize that I didn’t even want to hunt down goods from another Danish company. It’d be like cheating! Not cool, not cool. So we headed back to Copenhagen with Viking on our minds. Some people think we’re crazy for visiting in January. Coldass wet weather and super-short days. But crushes make you do crazy things. Am I right? Right?
First item secured? The notepads sportin’ a thick-ass chipboard backing and the black cover printed with the super rad Nordic-inspired artwork in silver ink. I mean, husbands and wives literally fought over this notebook last time… how could we not show it more love?? This time around we’re stocking both the ruled and grid-dot sheets.
Mind racin’ from the amazing selection of paper goods, going back and forth between the popular sketchbooks that we stocked last time or blank sketchpads for the Mystery Item. Those sketchbooks… the hefty cover protecting the phat, bright white sheets, perfect for writing or drawing (and we have some calendar ideas for it, too…)... BOOM! Sketchbook for the win.
Every time I thought my body would chill, I’d freak out again. I mean… the Viking pencil selection? The bootylicious ends dipped in black?! How could we choose just one? NO WAY. The black pencil with silver imprint for the Denmark Kit. And the updated classic yellow school pencil and maroon office pencil for our first-ever Booter Pack! I’m partial to pencils without erasers because I hate how the eraser never lasts the life of a pencil. So when I spotted the new Viking erasers sittin’ pretty in its all-black glory... we had to include ’em in the Booster Pack!
A new year, a new World Tour… but we had to go back, back to black ‘cause some goods are classics for a reason.
