50th STMT Kit Celebration T-shirt
It’s been a long time comin’. Over the years, the most common RAHstr request has been a T-shirt sportin’ a design like one of our STMT Kit posters. Many, many hot minutes later… we did it! RAD AND HUNGRY M’THR F’IN T-SHIRTS!
These limited-edition T-shirts feature a custom print designed by me. The design incorporates elements from some of our most popular STMT Kits (recognize any of ‘em?). I went through and picked my favorite design elements from those kits’ posters. There are 51 elements total – one for each STMT Kit we’ve released, and one extra to celebrate all the future kits.
Once the design was done, we needed the right companies to make it happen. We went with Fleaheart for the print job – a rad duo crankin’ out crazy-cool screenprinted shirts and posters. We love that they use water-based ink and knew they’d be able to get our neon liptastic color right when we heard about Andy’s mad tight trapping skillz. AND get this – their studio is located in the Greenpoint Pencil Factory in Brooklyn, the former Eberhard Faber building!! Across the way from the factory that produced their legendary pencils. 16 ginormous terra cotta pencils still line the top row of windows! SO RAD. Definitely gonna make a visit to their studio next time I’m in NY.
The T-shirt itself? From a company called BELLA + CANVAS – they’re based in Los Angeles and make all their shirts locally (with a focus on sustainability). The ones we chose for our 50th Celebration T-shirts are a supersoft poly-cotton blend, with a cool marble-like finish.
Droppin' 50 STMT Kits ain’t no small thang. It’s BIG. Every day we’ve been travelin’ for the last five years, and we have RAHstrs to thank for the incredible journey. Celebrate with us – rock this T-shirt.
